Glass,
is a curious material, with the caotic molecular structure,
more close to liquids than to solids. The physical
definition of glass is ‘a cooled down liquid’,
what means ‘a cold liquid and therefore solid.
There
exist different tecniques to manipulate this strange
material, which is the glass. Among them, there are:
-the (blowpipe or candilon) , which deforms the glass
directly by a fireflame.
-the smeltoven, where we smelt 2 or more pieces of
glass, at a temperature which goes from 500° up
to 1300° (variations of these tecniques are used, types
of glass and what one wants to obtain).
-the glass pasta, which is composed
of smashed glass and color oxides, and after smelted
in molds.
-the blowoven, which is used to blow complicated pieces
which need an elevated temperature.
